For Mailchimp exports · files never leave your browser

Stop paying Mailchimp for contacts you can't email.

Mailchimp bills for unsubscribed and non-subscribed contacts, and counts the same person once per audience. AudienceTrim reads your audience exports and shows how many billed contacts you could archive, plus ready-to-use lists to do it.

Run the free audit   How it works

Sources: Mailchimp Help: pricing plans (unsubscribed and non-subscribed contacts count) and duplicate contacts (no deduping across audiences).

How it works

1. Export

In Mailchimp: Audience → Export audience, once per audience. You get a ZIP of CSVs (subscribed, unsubscribed, non-subscribed, cleaned).

2. Drop the ZIPs here

AudienceTrim reads them in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, no Mailchimp login, no API key.

3. Archive and save

See billed contacts before and after. Pro gives per-audience archive lists, a combined one-audience file with tags, and step-by-step Mailchimp instructions.

Free audit

Drop Mailchimp export ZIPs or CSVs here
or click to choose files. Use one ZIP per audience; loose CSVs are grouped by their export ID.

FAQ

Is my data uploaded? No. AudienceTrim is a static page; your files are parsed by JavaScript on your device. There's no server, no account and no Mailchimp login. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

Does Mailchimp really charge for unsubscribed contacts? On current plans, yes: subscribed, unsubscribed and non-subscribed contacts count, and archived or cleaned ones don't (Mailchimp Help). Some legacy plans differ; check your Billing page.

How is the saving estimated? If you enter your current bill, we scale it by the share of billed contacts you can archive. Mailchimp prices in tiers, so the real saving depends on which tier you land in. Confirm on your Mailchimp Billing page.

Will archiving lose data? Archived contacts keep their data and can be unarchived (Mailchimp Help); see how to archive in bulk. If you use unsubscribed contacts for postcards or ads, keep them: untick "archive unsubscribed".

How do I get my key? After checkout you're redirected to a page that shows your key and saves it in this browser. Keep a copy.

Why is my bill still high after archiving? Mailchimp bills on the peak contact total in the billing period, so a peak already reached this cycle still drives this month's bill (Mailchimp Help).

Refunds? If the audit finds nothing to archive, email us within 14 days for a refund.
